


Dr. Cosby attended the University of Redlands, in Redlands, California, for three years where he studied pre-medicine. He was accepted to Northwestern University, School of Dentistry located in Chicago, Illinois. There he received his dental degree and chosen top in his class to continue training in his specialty, the oral maxillofacial surgery program. During his oral surgery training he was a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve, stationed in Chicago, Illinois. This experience allowed him to do a portion of his training at the Veterans Administration Research Hospital during the Vietnam War, where he performed facial reconstruction and wound repair on war victims.
After receiving his oral maxillofacial degree, he continued on to receive his medical degree at Northwestern University, School of Medicine. During medical school, he worked part-time teaching at the dental school. He graduated in 1975 and moved to Denver, Colorado to begin practicing as an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon. Before going into private practice he completed a medical rotation at Mercy Medical in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Cosby is a dedicated surgeon practicing in the Denver-Metro area for over 30 years. He served as a board member for Mercy Medical Center and for the Colorado Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He was an associate professor at the University of Colorado, School of Dentistry, for over 20 years.
Dr. Cosby is a board certified oral surgeon as well as a board certified medical doctor. He is a member of the Colorado Dental Association, American Dental Association, Colorado Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He served one year as the president of the Colorado Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and continues to be actively involved with this organization.
Dr. Cosby is an expert scuba diver, fly fisherman, and avid hunter. He is a licensed outfitter, training and guiding hunters for elk hunting in the Beaver Flattops wilderness area of Colorado. He is a cowboy at heart and can be found spending much of his free time in the great outdoors. Along with his wife, Anne, and his four adult children, he runs a working cattle/sheep ranch. Dr. Cosby devotes much of his time to improving natural habitats and the conservation of the family’s pristine mountain ranch.
