Meet Dr. Cosby

Dr. Michael Cosby, DDS, MD

For over 30 years, Dr. Cosby has been practicing as an oral surgeon, providing compassionate care for patients across the Denver Metro area. His patients regularly comment on how comfortable he makes them feel and appreciate his genuinely happy personality and soothing bedside manner. His partners and staff credit him with making the practice what it is today, one full of lasting relationships and a commitment to getting to know each and every patient.

Through his years of experience, Dr. Cosby has served as a board member for Mercy Medical Center, the Colorado Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and as an associate professor at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry for over 20 years.

Dr. Cosby is a board-certified oral surgeon and medical doctor, dedicated to his craft and his patients. He has held office and continues to be a member of the Colorado Dental Association, American Dental Association, Colorado Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Cosby attended the University of Redlands for three years where he studied pre-medicine upon being accepted to Northwestern University, School of Dentistry , Chicago, Illinois. There, he received his dental degree and was chosen top of his class to continue training in his specialty, oral maxillofacial surgery. During his oral surgery training he was a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve, stationed in Chicago, Illinois, which allowed him to do a portion of his training at the Veterans Administration Research Hospital during the Vietnam War, where he performed facial reconstruction and wound repair on war victims.

After receiving his oral maxillofacial degree, Dr. Cosby advanced his education to receive his medical degree at Northwestern University, School of Medicine. During medical school, he worked part-time teaching at the dental school. He graduated in 1975 and moved to Denver, Colorado to begin practicing as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, with the renown Caldwell and Listor completing a medical rotation at Mercy Medical, until he commenced into private practice.

When he is not treating patients, Dr. Cosby can be found spending much of his free time in the great outdoors. He is a cowboy at heart and along with his wife, Anne, and his four adult children, he runs a working cattle/sheep ranch. Dr. Cosby devotes much of his time to improving natural habitats and the conservation of the family’s pristine mountain ranch.
